Built for decisions that deserve a clear record.

Evidence before confidence

A price without its source, date and evidence type is not decision-ready. We keep retail asks, auction hammers and invoices visibly distinct.

Costs before headlines

The winning bid is only the beginning. Premium, duty, VAT, shipping and storage belong beside the number that first caught your eye.

Timing before ceremony

A famous label cannot rescue the wrong moment. Vintage context and drinking windows help decide whether to open, hold or walk away.

What nobody else puts in one place

  • Shows every merchant, not just the ones who paid

Wine-Searcher’s free tier shows sponsored stores only. Their own help pages say so.

  • Auction results next to retail prices

Neither Wine-Searcher nor Vivino puts realised auction prices beside retail.

  • The full cost of a lot, duty and VAT included

Nobody in the consumer market computes duty, VAT and fees into one number.

  • Open to private collectors, not trade only

Liv-ex is trade only. It states it will never allow private collectors to trade.

  • One of the largest wine databases in the world

The whole directory is public and searchable without an account, so the size is something you can check rather than take from us.

Common questions

What happens after the 7-day trial?

Billing is connected, so this is the real thing. The 7 days free come with the annual plans only. A monthly plan starts straight away and has no trial. At the end of the 7 days your card is charged for the year at the price on the plan you chose. Cancel before it ends and you are not charged.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any time. Settings → Plan & billing has a Cancel membership button that opens the Stripe customer portal, where you can also change your card or download past invoices. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for rather than the moment you press it, so you keep what you are paying for until then.

Can I move to a different plan?

Yes, in either direction. Settings → Plan & billing lists every plan beside what you have used against each ceiling, so you can see where you actually stand before you choose. Changing plan goes through the same Stripe customer portal as cancelling. If you move down and end up over a ceiling, nothing you saved is deleted: watches above the new limit go quiet and start working again the moment you move back up.

What does “billed annually” mean?

The price on the card is what the plan works out at per month, and it is the cheaper of the two ways to pay. The charge itself is one payment covering twelve months, taken when the 7 free days end. If you would rather pay each month, the monthly toggle shows that price instead; it costs more over a year and it carries no free days.

Where does the data come from?

Auction houses, merchants and public records. Every price is stored with its source and its date. We publish the method behind every number.

What is a watch?

A standing instruction to tell you when a wine you want turns up. You save the producer, the wine, the vintages and formats you would accept and the most you are willing to pay landed, and we tell you when something matches. Your plan sets how many you can have running at once. A saved watch cannot be rewritten in place, so adjusting one leaves the original alone and saves a second rule beside it.

Can I bring my cellar in from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Upload the spreadsheet and you approve the column mapping yourself, then confirm every uncertain match one by one. Nothing is written to your cellar until you have said yes to it, so an ambiguous producer name cannot quietly become the wrong wine.

Is this investment advice?

No. We show you what wines sold for and when they drink well. What you do next is your call.

What is free?

The wine directory and identity previews are public and need no account. Your cellar, its valuation, price history, alerts and the sommelier are part of a paid membership. There is no free tier; the 7 days free on an annual plan is the way to try it.

Start with the wine you were about to buy.

Search it. See what it really sells for. Then decide.
